1.6.2LatestMacSeptember 11, 2026

AI provider refresh: Gemini 3.8 Flash, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash and the openrouter/free router join the pickers, new installs default to Gemini Flash-Lite, and OpenCode Zen's rate-limited free models are gone.

  • Gemini 3.8 Flash is available; new installs default to Gemini Flash-Lite for captions and summaries — the tier Google positions for translation, at a fraction of the cost.
  • DeepSeek preset now uses DeepSeek V4.1 Flash; OpenRouter gains DeepSeek V4.1 Flash and the openrouter/free router.
  • OpenCode Zen free models removed: Zen throttles them for third-party apps, which caused rate-limit errors. Paid Zen models remain.
  • The model list shows current prices and upcoming retirement dates.
1.6.1MacSeptember 6, 2026

Maintenance release with refreshed localized App Store screenshots. DeepSRT PRO moved to a new Apple developer team, so after updating you may need to re-enter your AI API keys and re-enable the Safari extension.

1.6.0MacAugust 14, 2026

Fresh installs now default to your preferred caption language instead of captions being off, so the feature that makes DeepSRT worth having is on the first time you play something.

1.5.1MacAugust 11, 2026

Fixed a caption bug: a video whose native track YouTube labels as plain "zh" (typically Simplified) was being treated as an exact match for a Traditional Chinese preference, so translation was skipped and Simplified captions showed up for users who asked for 繁體中文.

1.5.0MacAugust 9, 2026

DeepSRT PRO: the app takes its name from the family it's now part of (PRO, Mobile, News). Adds caption styling, a real history panel, captions that duck out of the way on click, and localized error messages. Read the note

1.4.1MacAugust 9, 2026

Superseded same-day by 1.5.0 — the rename plus four features didn't fit a patch version.

1.4.0MacAugust 8, 2026

AI transcription for videos with no captions at all — opt-in, one ingestion pass instead of three, and resilient to a bad time window. Read the note

1.3.0MacAugust 7, 2026

Built-in MCP endpoint: six tools (search, transcript, summary, channel listing, video info, open-in-app) so AI agents and CLIs can work with what you're watching — your own key, nothing leaving your Mac. Read the note

1.2.0MacAugust 5, 2026

Universal binary (Apple silicon + Intel), a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint as a per-task AI provider (OpenCode Zen, OpenRouter, DeepSeek presets), per-task Gemini model selection, and Traditional Chinese split into Taiwan and Hong Kong variants.

1.1.0MacAugust 4, 2026

The free Safari extension ships on the Mac App Store: a "Play in DeepSRT" context menu and toolbar hand-off with playback position. In-app UI now follows your content-language setting across 7 locales.

1.0.1MacAugust 4, 2026

Summary and transcript panes default to the right of the video.

1.0.0MacJuly 31, 2026

First release on the Mac App Store. AI summaries and clickable transcripts for YouTube, powered by your own Gemini key, with the spine+annotation architecture that keeps bilingual captions in sync. Read the note

1.2.2iPhone, iPadSeptember 6, 2026

Maintenance release with refreshed localized App Store screenshots. App functionality is unchanged.

1.2.1iPhone, iPadSeptember 1, 2026

Copy complete summaries and transcripts with a long press, and summaries now follow your preferred language more reliably.

  • Long-press the Summary/Transcript selector to copy the full summary or transcript.
  • Copied transcripts are clean plain text without timestamps.
  • Summaries now follow your preferred language more reliably when the source video uses another language.
  • The Traditional Chinese interface now correctly labels Summary as 摘要.
1.2iPhone, iPadAugust 28, 2026

Live caption controls now match DeepSRT PRO.

  • Tap the caption button to cycle through Off, Bilingual, and Preferred Language Only.
  • Your caption-mode choice is remembered across app launches.
  • Bilingual translated and original caption rows now sit together with no extra gap.
1.1iPhone, iPadAugust 26, 2026

This update makes DeepSRT a much better viewing companion on both iPhone and iPad.

  • iPad landscape split view places the video beside the summary and transcript, with a draggable divider and maximize toggle.
  • Optional iPhone auto-rotation follows how you hold the phone even with system rotation lock on, never turns upside-down, and can be locked while watching lying down.
  • Pro Max iPhones stay in the phone layout in landscape.
  • Playback stays stable through rotation and app switching.
  • Existing captions and translations are reused when returning to the app instead of being fetched again.
  • Captions stay visible while you tap or hold the video.
  • The summary and transcript now have five text-size settings.
  • Captions are sensibly sized when no translation is configured and sit closer to the bottom of the video.
  • Paste to play: a copied YouTube link starts when you open the app, and a link pasted into search plays immediately.
  • Changing the language applies immediately to the playing video.
  • API keys are verified when saved, and provider errors identify the provider that failed.
  • Free-model lists for OpenCode Zen and OpenRouter have been refreshed.
1.0iPhoneAugust 2026

DeepSRT Mobile arrives on the App Store as its own app: the same summaries, clickable transcripts and bilingual live captions on iPhone, with a share sheet that takes a YouTube link straight from anywhere in iOS.
