DEEPSRT V2 · COMING SOON TO THE MAC APP STORE

Summaries in your style

Narrative paragraphs for a quick read, or a structured bullet digest where every point carries a timestamp. Summaries arrive in your language — 繁體中文, English, 日本語, 한국어, and more.

Clean, clickable transcripts

Full transcripts with readable segmenting. Click any timestamp to jump the video to that exact moment, or copy the whole thing as an SRT file in one click.

Watch right in the app

A built-in YouTube player sits above your summary and transcript. Read the digest, spot an interesting point, click its timestamp — the video jumps there.

Your key, your quota

Bring your own Gemini API key — the free tier from Google AI Studio is plenty for everyday use. Your key is stored only in the macOS Keychain and used only to call Google directly.

Private by design

No DeepSRT servers, no account, no analytics. Captions come straight from YouTube to your Mac; summaries go straight from your Mac to Google. Nothing in between.

Free Chrome extension

Browsing YouTube? The free DeepSRT extension puts the same summary and transcript in your browser's side panel — powered by the Mac app running quietly in the background.

Three steps, then it's instant

Set up once. From then on, every video is a paste away from a summary.

1

Get DeepSRT

One purchase on the Mac App Store. No subscription, no account to create.

2

Add your Gemini key

Grab a free API key from Google AI Studio and paste it into Settings. It lives in your Keychain.

3

Paste a link

Drop in any YouTube URL — or open the side panel in Chrome. Summary, transcript, and player appear together.

FAQ

Do I need my own API key?

Yes — DeepSRT is powered by your own Google Gemini API key, which you can create for free at Google AI Studio. Because the key is yours, there are no usage fees to DeepSRT, no monthly AI subscription, and your requests go directly to Google.

Is DeepSRT a subscription?

No. DeepSRT is a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store. The Chrome extension companion is free.

Does my viewing data pass through DeepSRT's servers?

Never — there are no DeepSRT servers. The app fetches captions directly from YouTube and sends transcript text directly to Google's Gemini API using your key. No account, no analytics, no middleman.

Which languages are supported?

Summaries and title translations are available in 繁體中文, 简体中文, English, 日本語, 한국어, Español, Français, and ไทย. Transcripts follow the caption languages available on the video.

Do I need Chrome to use it?

No. The Mac app is fully standalone — paste a link, get a summary, transcript, and built-in player. The Chrome extension is an optional companion for people who like summaries in the browser side panel while they watch.

What happened to DeepSRT v1?

DeepSRT v1 ran in the cloud. v2 is a ground-up rebuild that moves everything onto your Mac: faster, more private, and no longer dependent on shared infrastructure. The extension lives on — it now talks to the app instead of the cloud.

When is it available?

DeepSRT v2 is in the final stretch, coming to the Mac App Store. Drop us a line to be notified at launch.
